[2023/03/31 15:52] Alicia Frakture: Leesha takes the pies and her stuff and heads for breakfast.
[2023/03/31 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: Breakfast is a quiet affair, it's gruel and a slice of bread. There's not many others at this time of day

[2023/03/31 15:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Once breakfast is wrapped, Debben will head outside a bit and have a look around, checking the time and for the rest of their group.

[2023/03/31 15:59] Ingelin: Calien sees Debben and Leesha coming out, stops what she is doing and asnwers: yes we are ready to go, it iwll be a quite long walk

[2023/03/31 16:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Big city awaits, and we have permission to go inside the castle at least one more time," she mentions to sweeten the offer.

[2023/03/31 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: I take it you're setting off - and it is a long walk, luckily, an uneventful one. About the only thing of interest is just after noon, you pass a caravan of carts - empty. Kinda like the caravan of carts you passed on the way out, loaded with lumber.
[2023/03/31 16:03] Alicia Frakture: Leesha appreciates that commenting."Guess business was good."
[2023/03/31 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: Oddly the drivers don't seem overly happy, they have an air of glum resignation
[2023/03/31 16:05] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Ho!" She waves. "What news from the city?" she asks as they pass.
[2023/03/31 16:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: "sure, they're nearly done building their damn boat," a driver says, spitting tobacco juice into the dirt

[2023/03/31 16:07] Ingelin: /me rises an eyebrow listening aboats are mentioned
[2023/03/31 16:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Aye, boat, thing that floats on water and goes places. Not sure that one is going anywhere, mind."
[2023/03/31 16:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "So the lumber demand is going to drop..." she trails off, considering the economics of it. "Is it a royal boat?"
[2023/03/31 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Nay, a merchantman. It's definitely not going to be doing no merchanting."
[2023/03/31 16:10] Ingelin: "anything odd" she asks" at the docks?
[2023/03/31 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: The driver looks thoughtful. "Other than a cursed ship? Nope."
[2023/03/31 16:11] Alicia Frakture: We can always go check it out after drop off
[2023/03/31 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: The drivers jerks the reins. "Aye, you do that. Me, I'm putting as much distance between us and the docks as I can. Be seeing ye."
[2023/03/31 16:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben looks to the other two curiously, wondering just what is wrong with this boat .
[2023/03/31 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: Guess you need to get to the docks to find out!
[2023/03/31 16:14] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at Calien and Debben."Let's go, we can drop the pies and head to the docks."
[2023/03/31 16:15] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Right. To the castle."
[2023/03/31 16:15] Ingelin: I think i have to go and see what is happening to that boat...it is the boat i should join the crew...
[2023/03/31 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: Other than that, the day passes... you approach the city gates, where two guards wait, watching the comings and goings. As you approach, they hold out their halbards to bar your way. "Halt! Who goes there, what's your business?"

[2023/03/31 16:19] Alicia Frakture: Pies, He's got some fancy lunch and wanted these special

[2023/03/31 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: The other guard hushes him. "Don't interfere in the affairs of wizards. Pass, friends."
[2023/03/31 16:20] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "He's a wizard, if the wizard wants me to go fetch a bunch of baked goods I'm not going to make him mad."
[2023/03/31 16:20] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods smiling as she begins to walk into the city.
[2023/03/31 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guards agree with this sound advice.
[2023/03/31 16:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: You walk into the city - it's as busy as ever. Robed figures, beggars, vendors, people going about their business... and three robed guys who approach you.
[2023/03/31 16:21] Ingelin: Calien puts back in her pocket her boarding pass
[2023/03/31 16:22] Alicia Frakture: Leesha keeps the pies close to her to avoid cutpurses and other thieves
[2023/03/31 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben notes the robed guys approaching and makes sure her spear is handy, looking for a good way they can lose this tail.
[2023/03/31 16:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: One of the robed guys comes forward, the other two hanging back. "Hey there, friends," he says
[2023/03/31 16:24] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Maybe there's an alley they could duck through and hide the opening with an illusion....
[2023/03/31 16:24] Alicia Frakture: Oh no, not falling for that again. You want us, meet us in an hour at this closest inn
[2023/03/31 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: As far as you can tell for a man in robes, he looks surprised. "I'm sorry, friends? Fall for what? We've never spoken before, have we?"
[2023/03/31 16:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: What iconography does he have on the robes?
[2023/03/31 16:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: As far as you can see, none at all. Just old coarse robes, such as any poor monk would wear.
[2023/03/31 16:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: Or, any working man, out and about being "discreet"
[2023/03/31 16:28] Alicia Frakture: Leesha narrows her eyes." fair enough, what do ya need?"
[2023/03/31 16:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben hmmms but keeps moving, deciding to follow Leesha's lead. "We do have an errand we need to finish first."
[2023/03/31 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: the man brightens (again, as far as you can tell, since he wears robes...) and pulls out some scrolls from his robe.
[2023/03/31 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Have you heard of the Ashmens' Contract, friends?"
[2023/03/31 16:30] Alicia Frakture: Never even heard of Asnmen? That some kind of travelling troupe?
[2023/03/31 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: "It is very simple. You sign the contract, we pay you ten gold pieces, and when you die, we take your body."
[2023/03/31 16:31] Alicia Frakture: Oh is that all? Hard pass.
[2023/03/31 16:31] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Nope, not falling for that one." She tugs on Leesha's sleeve and resumes walking.
[2023/03/31 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: You leave the three staring after you in some astonishment. One says to the other after a minute or two: "Told you you should have offered twenty gold, Brian."
[2023/03/31 16:32] Ingelin: Calien pulls up her hoods and obeserves the scene without a word
[2023/03/31 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: You make your way to the castle, and the side gate. A guard stands there, looking bored to death.
[2023/03/31 16:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben of course interprets this 'contact' as an excuse for them to kill the signer for their corpse shortly afterwards, even if she's unclear on who exactly is buying corpses so badly. "Delivery for the Archwizard," she announces amicably. "He'll want it hand-delivered."
[2023/03/31 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guard looks at you all. "Oh, it's you... wait... wasn't there only two...?"
[2023/03/31 16:35] Ingelin: Calien whispers: girls, remember there is a bount on your bodies
[2023/03/31 16:37] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We picked up a friend on the way out," she answers amicably.
[2023/03/31 16:37] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods."Exactly."
[2023/03/31 16:37] Ingelin: Calien smiles to the guard
[2023/03/31 16:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Hmmm.... not sure about this... alright... I guess..." He opens the door and stands aside. "You know the way?"
[2023/03/31 16:39] Alicia Frakture: Leesha walks in with the pies."don't worry it's all good."
[2023/03/31 16:40] Ingelin: Calien trots after the girls keeping her eyes down on the road
[2023/03/31 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: it's a twisty turny path through the castle, you arrive at the wizards' office and bang on the door... after a few minutes "come in..."
[2023/03/31 16:42] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is a bit surprised the bard is so quiet when out of her element, but decides not to push on it, knocking on the door even as they come in at his offer. "So, we have good news and bad news, Mr Archwizard."
[2023/03/31 16:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: For a moment you can't quite see where he is, but then you notice an orrery with feet sticking out from under it. There's a few bumps, bangs, and muttered curses, then "...Just leave it on the table over there." You can see tables, under piles od scrolls and odd devices.
[2023/03/31 16:44] Alicia Frakture: Leesha follows in and sets the pies on the table."Yeah that's just it."
[2023/03/31 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: Although you can't see him, you get the vague impression of a nod, then the bumping and cursing starts again.
[2023/03/31 16:45] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben approaches, being sure not to step on anything that looks like it might be active, and peers at the orrery he's working with. She -is- a wizard of sorts herself, even if a specialist.
[2023/03/31 16:46] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at Calien and motions her to join them
[2023/03/31 16:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: As best you can make out, it looks like a standard orrery. A flat disc in the middle, a small moon, a large sun, and a few celestial bodies
[2023/03/31 16:47] Ingelin: Calien joins them
[2023/03/31 16:48] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Presumably the Archwizard is fiddling with something to adjust it, and she peers to see what -that- might be, as well as admiring the detailed construction of a precision instrument. She is a natural-born dwarf, after all.
[2023/03/31 16:49] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shakes her head looking at the orrery."We found the pies, but the recipe was nowhere to be found."
[2023/03/31 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: Lots of gears and cogs are apparant, all trying to get the motions of the various bodies about the central disc. You see Ridcully, flat on his back, poking at a gear. Hearing Leesha, he says, "Pies? Recipies? What is that?"
[2023/03/31 16:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "The building had been taken over by goblins, and they'd made a complete waste and mess of the place."
[2023/03/31 16:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Goblins? Where? Here? Can you help me up and tell that to me again?"
[2023/03/31 16:52] Alicia Frakture: You sent us for pies and a recipe if we can find it we got pies but no recipe, we think the goblins that took over the bakery did something with it
[2023/03/31 16:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: realization and memory dawns slowly. "Oh! PIES! Why didn't you say. Did you get them?"
[2023/03/31 16:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She moves to offer him a hand to help stand up since he clearly was not actually listening before.
[2023/03/31 16:54] Alicia Frakture: Yes, we have the pies but not the recipe.
[2023/03/31 16:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "More importantly. Weatherwax wasn't there."
[2023/03/31 16:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: You help him up, it takes a bit of time. He is rather elderly, after all. "Pies, no recipie. Oh, that's too bad. But you got pies."
[2023/03/31 16:55] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Might be the last batch of them, though."
[2023/03/31 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Oh. How many did you get?"
[2023/03/31 16:56] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Three or four?" she looks over to Leesha who's been in charge of carrying them.
[2023/03/31 16:56] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods and spreads them out for counting
[2023/03/31 16:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Two hundred gold for the pies, and a hundred for your trouble," the old man says.
[2023/03/31 16:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Thank you, sir," she nods, eyes focused on the gold, though attempting to act professional through the process.
[2023/03/31 16:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( And apologies to people if I kinda took over for parts there. ))
[2023/03/31 16:59] Alicia Frakture: *No worries*
[2023/03/31 17:00] Ingelin: We faced a lot of troubles and dangers to carry here this pies, they value even more then two hundred of golds, and our troubles even more, Sir

[2023/03/31 17:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: Is the bard trying to influence reactions?

[2023/03/31 17:05] Ingelin: Calien warms up a bit in anger and says him: what's right is right, while you lay here on the ground sobering up, these two heroic girls faced enemies and death to get your pies!
[2023/03/31 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: Let's see if you're successful... better pray to the dice gods, they may listen :)
[2023/03/31 17:06] Alicia Frakture: Leesha steps back doing her best to not smirk at that reaction from Calien.
[2023/03/31 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: The wizard listens, then nods. "Yes, yes, you fought a heroic fight. Perhaps an extra hundred."
[2023/03/31 17:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: How do you plan splitting the gold? That's 400 pieces.
[2023/03/31 17:08] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at Debben and nods about the amount.
[2023/03/31 17:08] Ingelin: two extra hundreds and i will sing your deeds
[2023/03/31 17:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: Only works the once - and that's 100gp per pie already!
[2023/03/31 17:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben is impressed by the bards boldness but is suspecting she might not be familiar with how scary wizards can be when they're mad!
[2023/03/31 17:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: and that's looking like quite the negotiator lol
[2023/03/31 17:09] Ingelin: then I will only sing the deeds of my two friends
[2023/03/31 17:09] Alicia Frakture: I'm good with this, but it is up to these two

[2023/03/31 17:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Once we're out of earshot of Ridcully, we can split the gold, not a discussion he needs to hear

[2023/03/31 17:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Well, Debben and Leesha did all the fighting and exploration, Cali showed up at the end, but -did- negotiate a bigger payout us two would not have been able to do
